• Herbert Hoover was president during the Great Depression, not FDR. Well, FDR came on in 1933, but he sure wasn't on TV.
• Broadcast TV in the USA started July 1, 1941. The Great Depression started in 1929 and lasted 10 years. TV was not in the picture.
